Welcome
Log fire Greeting

As this a personal page it must be tinged with self-indulgence but the author has tried to make the site enjoyable, easy to navigate and pleasant. Not an ego trip! Only you know if this quest has been successful, I do hope so.

It is my sincere hope that every visitor feels welcome and takes something good away with them after their visit. Of course not all wanderers will find what they seek here but I wish them well and offer them peace as they resume their weary track.

Perhaps there is egotism here after all as I look to improve my web skills and make the site more appealing. This is the satisfaction of accomplishment however, not I hope of arrogance.

As these pages meander back and forth on different schemes and maybe related continuance, it is with intent to maintain interest. There is form and intention as everything flows, be patient with me if my indulgence leaps out now and then...

Such a wide audience base has never tested my skills as storyteller and it isn't easy to avoid slang and terminology so common to my life that may be lost in use to the majority of readers. English, like this page, takes many tracks and deviations even within the British Isles and certainly beyond its borders. Please stop me if a term or phrase is strange or unknown. I wont take offence and there are many opportunities for feedback on the site.

So relax by the fire and take some time out from the world, it won't miss you for a short while. I hope to take you back. Back to a time of uncertainty, of pain and of glory for the O'Reilly Tribe.

It is also my intention to go back and examine the past about my home City of Stoke-on-Trent, warts and all. I shall pay particular intention to my own town of Longton. Its history, its inhabitants and its growth shall be looked at along with a reflection: Is history worthless to us or are we wise enough to see its lesson?

And of course a little bit on me but I have to say that this site holds some of me in every part. Thank you for calling by...
