This site is dedicated to our ancestors in this Unique City. Why unique? That will come but first lets consider my approach. The author does not seek to colour the facts nor present any particular viewpoint either politically nor socially. You may judge this but I have concentrated more on the town of Longton than any others as this has been my home town throughout most of my life.

I do give information on all of the City but forgive me if Lane End (Longton) gets the Lion's share of detail. Many other web developers run sites on Stoke-on-Trent, perhaps they can give greater detail of the role that their own home town has featured in the growth of the Potteries.

Enough chatter, let's get down to it. My only reservation here was where to begin. I think that I have managed to start at the beginning...
